Minimalism, defined by LACQNA
The idea of a simplified life is often being romanticised and definitely sounds attractive to many. More often than not, we have taken for granted for we thought minimalism is the act of uncluttering unnecessary things.
However, minimalism is not just to remove but it is to identify whichever is needed and prioritise the important of it. After all, no one would want to end up with a flawed design with the crucial element being left out. To find the balance in between letting go and keeping what is needed is in itself a challenge that has failed many. We seek meaning in what we design, to convey our belief.
“our souls are not hungry for fame, comfort, wealth, or power. our souls are hungry for meaning, for the sense that we have figured out how to live so that our lives matter.” – harold kushner
Our belief is that minimalism is not the concept of less, but more of a concept of balance. And this idea has been visualised in our watch design. Our minimalist watch is a thoughtful design. The embossed index is a well-balanced layout that well represents the hours and minutes.
Minimalism is not the lack of but more of a balance off. The art of prioritisation.
